UK lenders count on additional widening of mortgage spreads: BoE

British lenders surveyed in late November and early December predicted an additional widening in mortgage lending spreads within the three months to the tip of February, in accordance with a Financial institution of England survey launched on Thursday.

The BoE’s quarterly Credit score Situations Survey additionally confirmed lenders anticipated the supply of mortgages, shopper loans and company credit score to lower within the December-February interval, and for mortgage defaults to rise.
